LATEST NEWS ? project u is a FREE resource to help students work out their post-school options. Thousands of copies are sent to high schools students all over Queensland each year. Look out for them at your school or order your own copy. WHAT IS PROJECT U? project u is a unique interactive outreach project aimed at high school students from disadvantaged backgrounds to consider university as one of their post-school options. WHAT'S IN IT? We surveyed current high school students from Years 10, 11 and 12 to ask them why they don’t think that university is within their reach. There were many fears, concerns and misconceptions. Then we talked to current university students about how they handled the key decision-making milestones in their lives, overcoming obstacles, and busting myths. This is the information that project u shares with current high school students. PARENTS' VIEWS. Many parents and young people share the same concerns, and 'project u' will help to answer your questions. For example, uni students discuss the concern that university is financially out of reach, and talk about scholarships, part-time work, and how they make ends meet. Have a look at the teen bedroom section for more about this and other issues. Better still, ask for a DVD and hear current students and parents, just like you, talking about their ideas and advice. IT'S FREE! project u consists of a free interactive DVD available to all students and parents free of charge and supported by this website linking you and your children to vital resources.
